But then, you realize that it's not really funny. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you felt morphs into a wistful, melancholic sound.

In the end, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You start ruminating about the nature of it all. Was this intended to be funny?

Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Worst Day Ever

It all started with a case of bedhead hair. I couldn't figure it to look presentable. As I was running out the door, I fell and dropped my lunch all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was totally behind schedule for work.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
